The Village of Barrington’s Cultural Commission and Barrington’s White House are proud to be one of only eight locations that will host the prestigious Arts Alliance Illinois during its public “listening tour” this fall throughout Illinois.
The group will meet at the White House on Wednesday, November 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and the public is invited.
The meeting is open to all who are passionate about arts and culture, arts education, political issues and policies as they affect the sector, and the future of our creative state.
The group will gather for networking and brief remarks before outlining future initiatives and programs to come from the Alliance; sharing the results of Arts & Economic Prosperity 5, the fifth iteration of a nationwide study documenting the economic impact of the nonprofit arts and culture industry; previewing the 2018 One State Together in the Arts conference; and much more.
Attendees will be encouraged to respond to regionally specific conclusions from our previous Statewide Listening Tour, and provide back to us their key concerns as creatives and stakeholders in arts and culture.
“We are honored to be one of only eight sites in the state to host the Arts Alliance Illinois for their public listening tour,” said Karen Darch, President, Village of Barrington. “Barrington’s White House is the perfect venue for such a gathering, as we have worked very hard over the past two years to create a cultural ‘hub’ in Barrington through events at the White House. We are excited to host this important dialogue for the community about the future of the arts.”
