At its regular Board meeting on September 11th, 2017, the Village of Barrington unanimously approved a new townhome subdivision at Grove Avenue and Dundee Road, following numerous public hearings and review by the Village of Barrington Plan Commission and Architectural Review Commission.

The development by M/I Homes, called “Brentwood," will include 61 townhomes on 11.33 acres and includes park-like open space, with a connection to a new bike path to be developed on Dundee Road from Barrington Road to Prairie Middle School.

The development lies in a mixed-use area of office and residential properties along Grove Avenue. Its 5.38 units-per-acre density is consistent with multi-family projects in the Village that have been approved in recent years in order to bring more diverse housing options for younger families, young professionals, and empty nesters. These include both the 101 W. Liberty Street apartment complex currently under construction and the Roslyn Meadows townhome development coming next year.

The subdivision’s location is desirable due to its proximity to the middle school, the District 220 Early Learning Center, and Ron Beese Park.
