Dave Nelson Honored for Long-Time Service to Barrington

On Monday evening, May 22, the Village Board of Trustees honored Barrington resident David F. Nelson for his long-time service to both the Village of Barrington and Cuba Township, where he is retiring after 20 years of service.






Dave was honored with a Resolution commending him for his service. In addition, he was named the Grand Marshal of the 2017 Barrington 4th of July Parade, and the Village gazebo was renamed the "David F. Nelson Community Gazebo" in his honor.



Dave was a Barrington Village Trustee from 1977 to 1985 and Village President from 1985 to 1989. He was the Cuba Township Supervisor from 1997 to 2017.



In addition, Dave has served the Barrington Community in dozens of other capacities, serving on numerous nonprofit boards and in fundraising capacities for many Village projects
