As a result of a semi-trailer vehicle accident last evening at Hart Road and Route 14, a substance was leaked onto the ground and to the shoulder at the scene.
Police and fire were originally informed at the scene that the product was vegetable oil. This morning at 10:45 am we were informed by the shipping company that the product was instead a compound used in the production of polyurethane.
The area has been isolated and spilled product is being removed by specialty technicians. As a result, Route 14 has been shut down to one lane at Hart Road and 14 until the matter is resolved. The public is asked to avoid the area until the matter is resolved.
