Neighborhoods throughout Barrington are invited to join 38.3 million people in over 16 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. There will be many other neighboring police departments in attendance. Together, we are making it happen.

From 6:30-8:30, neighbors throughout Barrington and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on your front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement.

Community organizations will be available throughout the evening providing:

6:30p.m. the event will open with the Barrington Area Ministerial Association blessing our local law enforcement.

6:30p.m. The Chicago Mounted Patrol will be on site

7:15p.m. Master Ron will be creating balloon art and entertaining the crowd with his juggling

7:30p.m. The Barrington Fire Department will do a demonstration

“This is an event for America to stand together and promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight for a safer nation. There will be a number of fun and educational activities for children and adults. NNO will give our residents an opportunity to speak with various members of the police department as well. We look forward to this event each year,” said David Dorn, Barrington’s Police Chief.
