The newly renovated South Barrington Village Hall made its big debut this past Saturday.

This is the first renovation of the Hall since 1984. The building itself was not functional for the members of staff and community and required a lot of overlapping workspaces.

The Hall has been a long work in progress, but the hard work has finally paid off. The renovation is complete and is completely debt free!

Paula McCombie, the village president, along with other members of the community worked hard to create an environment that provided more space for their members and to serve the community more efficiently.

Creating a place that was welcoming and spacious for the community was very important to McCombie and could not of been achieved without the help of her staff. Their participation and flexibility was vital during the process and they all contributed in the decorating, color choices, checking of invoices, and the bidding of items in the original contract. All of their hard work was celebrated during the Hall’s big ribbon cutting ceremony.

This is just the start of the plans Paula McCombie has in store for South Barrington.

With the renovation and additions of the Village Hall her primary focus during her first term as president, she looks forward to what she can do in the future. Her goals are to create a better comprehensive plan for the village and to do a better job at marketing the village as a great place to live and work.

Paula McCombie believes that through the use of comprehensive plans and the support from her staff, they can finish developing the remaining parts of the village and ensure a successful community for years to come.
