Once again the hardworking board and event committee for the Barrington Children’s Charities hosted a wonderful celebration of the Kentucky Derby, while raising funds to help local children.
The venue this year was The Anvil Club
in Dundee. A private dinner club opened in 1956. The comfortable wood paneled Lounge and tack & saddle decorated Saddle Room gave guests a relaxing cool respite after enjoying cocktails and appetizers in the beautiful sunny Courtyard.

Always a fun opportunity to sport the Derby-Style, this years attendees did not disappoint! Plenty of beautiful dresses, accessorized up to amazing hats on all the women, and no shortage of great summer suits and great ties on the men. Julianne Long
won ‘Best Dressed’ for the women and Tom Culhane
took the prize for the men.
Guests enjoyed great food, wonderful drinks including the traditional Derby favorite Mint Julep, opportunities to purchase chances for the race and a 50/50 raffle. Guests also had the opportunity to purchase silver Julep Cups.
All proceeds went to furthering the mission of the Barrington Children’s Charities:
