Five Barrington “stars” will be dancing on behalf of the Barrington Area Council on Aging’s “Dancing with the Barrington Stars” fundraising event set for Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Stonegate Conference Centre, 2401 West Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates.
Village of Barrington’s President Karen Darch, local entrepreneur Erin Shechtman, Barrington High School’s head varsity coach Joe Sanchez, the former Barrington-area official and current businessman David Nelson and local Realtor John Morrison, are the featured dancers.
“Voting is taking place now,” said Barrington resident Janine O’Leary, one of the event’s coordinators. “People can vote anytime online at www.dancing18.gesture.com.”
The new fundraising event was planned to help bring more awareness about BACOA to the Barrington-area community.
“We’re seeing research that indicates that more than one-third of the entire Barrington-area population is over 60,” said BACOA Executive Director Joyce Palmquist. “Yet many simply don’t know what BACOA can do to help older adults, care partners, and their families.”
BACOA provides assistance to older adults needing memory support, housing options or in-home care services, meals, Medicare or Medicaid help, insurance, benefits, and Medicare Part D assistance, caregiver support, respite care for a loved one, or medical equipment lending.
Tickets for the Dancing with the Barrington Stars event are $80 and can be purchased by going to www.dancing18.gesture.com.
