Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital hosted their annual Santa event in partnership with A to Z Literacy on Thursday, December 7th, 2017.

Advocate associates and their families brought books to donate to A to Z Literacy Movement a not-for-profit organization based in Crystal Lake that collects books to send to impoverished areas in Africa. The A to Z Literacy Movement was founded my Mal Keenan who realized the desperate need for books when traveling throughout Africa visiting schools.

'The A to Z Literacy Movement has been formed from a love and concern for underprivileged children in Africa and from the belief that literacy is key to escaping poverty.'

Families attending the event enjoyed a buffet dinner, arts & crafts, petting Advocate Good Shepherd therapy dog Lucy and visiting with Santa. Santa wrapped up the evening by reading the classic holiday favorite, Twas the Night Before Christmas.
