Juniors kicked off the holiday season with their annual fashion show, Cue the Confetti. This fun-filled day of fashion and philanthropy raised more than $80,000 for their scholarship and grant programs. Due to the success of the reverse auction, Juniors was able to give $3000 in gift cards for food to local organizations, including BACOA, JourneyCare, Cuba Township Food Pantry and Barrington High School.
Juniors proudly celebrated the season by purchasing and distributing gifts for more than 400 local children at Barrington Giving Day. A record number of families attended Giving Day this year, but thanks to the generosity and cooperation of the community, each family left with multiple gifts for their children. Juniors further supported children in the community by fulfilling the holiday wish lists of 20 children at Sunny Hill.
Continuing the tradition of supporting senior citizens, the Service to Seniors committee hosted a luncheon at Alden Estates, with live entertainment, prizes and plenty of holiday cheer.
With the new year ahead, the philanthropy committee will begin their scholarship and grant process. More fun and philanthropy will be had at the spring fundraiser, Luck Be A Lady, on Saturday, March 3 at Biltmore Country Club. The fundraiser will further support grants and scholarships but will have a special focus on a new program at Sunny Hill, Safety Town Around Town.
