Learn More About Blueprint 220 Options Tonight & Thursday

Barrington 220 News
May 14, 2018

Mon. May 14: 7pm, Grove Elementary Gym
Thurs. May 179:30am, Station Library

The goal of each meeting is to to get community feedback on this draft master-facilities plan, which the board has been working on over the past few months.

In the plan, the board prioritized building renovations for our high school, middle schools and elementary schools. The priorities are based upon community feedback from meetings last fall, projected costs and the district’s four academic focus areas (Fine, Visual & Performing Arts, Future-Ready Learning, Physical Health and Wellness and STEM).

Priority levels build upon each other for a cumulative effect. For example, in the $250 million column, upgrades at the high school level include everything in the $80, $150 and $200 million columns. Upgrades at the middle school level include everything in the $80, $150 and $200 million columns, plus additional work listed in the $250 million column. Upgrades at the elementary level include everything in the $80, $150 and $200 million columns, plus additional work listed in the $250 million column.

Once the board gathers community feedback, it will finalize the plan, then vote to approve the long-term master facility plan. If the plan is approved, the board would then move forward with funding decisions, which will ultimately be up to the community through a referendum.

Refreshments will be served at all meetings!
