Barrington School Employee Organization & Barrington 220 Board of Education Finalize New Contract on Behalf of Support Personnel

The Barrington 220 Board of Education and the Barrington School Employee Organization have agreed on a new four-year contract for district support personnel.

BSEO members ratified the collective bargaining agreement on April 28, 2018. The Barrington 220 Board of Education then unanimously approved the contract at its May 1 regular board meeting.

The previous three-year contract expired June 30, 2017. The new contract is retroactive to July 1, 2017, and extends to June 30, 2021. The terms of the new agreement include:

  • Year 1: base increase of 1.5%
  • Year 2: base increase of 2.1%
  • Year 3: base increase of 2.1%
  • Year 4: step increase (average of 2.58%)

“The collaborative nature of the BSEO played a key role in negotiating a contract that meets the needs of the district’s support staff and the entire Barrington 220 community,” said Board Member Angela Wilcox.

“We value the dedication our support staff brings to the Barrington 220 School District every day. Their hard work is vital to the success of our schools and our students,” said Board Member Sandra Bradford.
