Barrington High School students will host a forum featuring candidates in the Illinois 6th Congressional District Democratic Primary on Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00 pm.
The forum will feature a discussion on topics that will allow voters to evaluate where the candidates stand on foreign and domestic issues prior to the March 20 primary. This will be the last time the candidates meet before primary day, which is Tuesday, March 20th.
Candidates Sean Casten, Carole Cheney, Amanda Howland, Ryan Huffman, Kelly Mazeski, Becky Anderson Wilkins and Jennifer Zordani will face questions from distinguished political journalists Greg Hinz (Crains’ Chicago), Jim Slusher (Daily Herald), and Natasha Korecki (Politico). A Barrington High School student will also ask questions on behalf of the students.
This event, to be held in the Richard C Johnson Auditorium at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St, Barrington, is open to the public but requires registration (link below).
“Free discussion and involvement in politics is integral to the progress of our community,” said Rob Ridenour, AP Economics teacher at the high school. “We encourage voters from throughout the 6th district, and especially the Barrington area, to be informed citizens and attend the Forum.”
Barrington High School will live stream the forum via the award-winning BHS-TV YouTube channel from 7:00 P.M.- 9:30 P.M. (Central) on March 13, 2018, at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYI4q4W85lhP561mtRj7gXQ
