We have accomplished so much as a school community in these short nine months. From prestigious recognitions of our students to innovative teaching and learning initiatives, I'm proud of what the Barrington 220 community has achieved together.
As a reminder, we are preparing the final details related to the Board of Education's decision to adjust start times for all schools beginning in August of this year. Changing school start times is the third and most complex component of creating optimal time for learning, which is a strategic goal determined by 330 community members eight years ago. Improving the school year calendar and implementing kindergarten enrichment have previously been accomplished.
Operational adjustments and considerations have been made across all grade levels at all schools to successfully implement this change when school begins on Aug. 21. Please take a moment to read about these adjustments in our ELC/elementary, middle school and high school informational packets.
When school resumes in the fall, we will also be nearing the final and most exciting phase of our Blueprint 220 process. By the end of the calendar year, plans for future facility improvements will be presented to the Board of Education for its review and approval. Please take time to watch the Blueprint 220 Global Perspectives video below to learn more about considerations for improved facilities and provide your feedback by clicking the link at the end.
Enjoy the Memorial Day weekend, before returning to school for the final two days of the school year. The last day of school will be Wednesday, May 31 and buildings will operate on the traditional Wednesday early-release schedule.
Thanks for your ongoing support of another highly successful school year for Barrington 220. I hope you enjoy a restful and safe summer break.
