The Barrington Lions Club has donated the use of their Brat tent, and on Sunday July 3rd at the Barrington train station live music, food, beer, and fun will be enjoyed by people and families around the Chicagoland area.
Ride for 3 Reasons is an organization founded in 2001 by Barrington resident Bob Lee. Over the course of 11 years Mr. Lee has completed three solo bike rides, in which he cycled the perimeter of the United States to raise funds and awareness for 3 causes Cancer, ALS, and Hospice.
Fast forward to now and Barrington High School senior Jan Gierlach will be carrying on the legacy of a Ride For 3 Reasons by riding his bike solo and self supported this February across the United States for the same three causes. The Ride for 3 Reasons team is thrilled to have the opportunity to once again provide the community with a fun and entertaining way to spend July 3rd.
The event will go from 1 to 10pm with a full musical line up, free kids activities earlier in the day, and raffle prizes. Kids will enjoy free ice cream sundaes courtesy of SweetSpot and Hershey’s from 1pm to 3pm.
One hundred percent of the profits made that day will go directly to the three charities. So if you’re looking to support some worthy causes, and have a good time be sure and save the date for July 3rd!
