BHS Robotics Team Heads to FIRST Tech Challenge World

Barrington High School is proud to announce that BHS Robotics Team 5199 "Duct Tape and a Prayer" competed against 72 teams from 11 states at the FTC North Super Regional Championship in Cedar Rapids, IA on March 30 – April 1, 2017.

As a result of their 3rd place division ranking, the team has now qualified for the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship to be held in St. Louis, MO at the end of April.

Out of 5,000 FTC teams worldwide, they are now among the top 6%.

This is the third time in five years that a BHS Robotics Team has qualified for the FTC World Championship.

FIRST Tech Challenge teams design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head game competition in an alliance format.

Participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have!”

Students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and collaboration.
